Be Grateful
By developing an attitude of gratitude we can see more clearly, think positive thoughts, eliminating negative thinking from our lives and thereby reduce stress.
Learn to be grateful for what you have, for the people in your life and see it as a gift. With this sort of outlook on life, stress will be reduced and happiness increased. (Thanks to Leo Batauta)
Experiencing gratitude is one of the most effective ways of getting in touch with yourself. When you are in touch with your soul you eavesdrop on the wisdom of the universe. You feel connected with anything on creation. You embrace the wisdom of uncertainty and you sense yourself as a field of infinite possibilities and gratitude is one of the most effective ways of getting there. Why is that? The reason is that when you’re experiencing gratitude your ego goes out of the way. You can’t have ego and gratitude at the same time. Only one.
So close your eyes, put your attention in your heart and for the next few minutes think of all the things in your life that you can be grateful for. The nurturing relationships that you are grateful for, the material things that you have in your life right now that you are grateful for, the love and connection that you have with very special beings, that you could be grateful for, your body, your mind that allows you to really understand yourself and everything around you. Just sit there quietly, thinking of all the things that you could be grateful for. And as you experience that, experience the warmth that the gratitude brings into your heart. The love and the compassion and the understanding that gratitude brings into your heart. And a sense of connection with the creative powers of the universe, that gratitude brings into your heart. Just sit quietly and when you are ready, slowly open your eyes.
